Juvenile court exercises jurisdiction in cases involving delinquent, unruly, and deprived children under 17, and deprived children under the age of 18. Juvenile courts have concurrent jurisdiction with the superior courts in cases involving capital felonies, custody, child support cases, and proceedings conducted to terminate parental rights. Cases appealed from the juvenile court may be heard by the Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court, depending the specific matter.

Judges must be at least 30 years old, have practiced law for five years and have lived in Georgia for three years. Full-time judges cannot practice law while holding office. Christy Balbo serves as judge of Bryan County Juvenile Court.

Probation of juvenile offenders is supervised by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
