Hot, nutritious meals are served daily for our congregate clients for a contribution. Come by one of the centers today and sign up! Transportation services to and from the centers are also available as well as group trips, outings and shopping trips. Other trips must be scheduled on an individual basis with the Coastal Regional Coaches Regional Rural Transportation service at (866) 543-6744. All seniors and family caregivers residing in Bryan County are provided with information and services that promote physical health, mental well-being and options for living that ensure personal dignity and individual choice. Our goal is to promote the independence and well-being of Bryan County older adults and to provide these individuals and their caregivers with information and access to needed services. Activities at both centers include, but are not limited to health and wellness screenings, education and programming, nutrition education, collaboration with local agencies and businesses to provide guest speakers, entertainment and resources for our senior clients. Senior citizens 60+ who attend the centers enjoy outings, picnics, and attend special events around the region. Seniors also enjoy arts and crafts, bingo, fellowship, and participate in bake sales, quilt raffles and local festivals and events where they can sell their homemade goods. Seniors who attend the centers stay active by participating in exercise and fitness programs on a weekly basis. Both centers have access to recreational programs at nearby facilities and parks for walking, tennis, and other fitness activities. Computers are available for those senior citizens who are computer savvy and enjoy surfing the net! For more information contact your local senior citizen center! |
