Our Business License renewal process has changed.  Renewing online is now the FASTEST and most efficient way to renew your license!  Review the steps below and, when ready, enter the portal by clicking the button to begin the process.

Things to know before you begin:

All Business Licenses expire on December 31st of each year.  Renewals not completed on or before February 1st of each year will be subject to a 1.5% penalty per month.  Applications submitted after July 30th are not eligible for renewal, and a new application will be required.

  •  Step 1: Complete/Gather All Required Information -
    • Private Employer Affidavit -Every private employer with 11 or more employees is required to register with and utilize the federal work authorization program commonly known as E-Verify.  If the business has 10 or fewer employees and registration is not required, then the Private Employer Affidavit still needs to be completed, confirming the employer is exempt.  For more information on how to obtain an E-Verify number, visit www.uscis.gov and click on E-Verify.  To determine the number of employees for purposes of this affidavit, a business must count its total number of employees company-wide, regardless of the city, state, or country in which they are based, working at least 35 hours a week.
    • Number of Employees - The annual Occupation Tax is calculated based on the number of employees working in unincorporated Bryan County.  This number may be different than the number of employees company-wide.  For more information on how to calculate your number of employees for Occupation Tax purposes, click here.
  • Step 2: Login/Gain Access to Portal- If you are renewing a license, an account has already been created for you.  If your email address was previously provided, you should be able to access your account by selecting "Login" and entering your email address. If your email is not found, contact us so we can update your contact information.
  • Step 3: Pay Annual Occupation Tax Online - Once your license renewal has been processed, you will receive an emailed invoice with instructions to pay your annual Occupation Tax, as well as a $75 non-refundable application fee. Do not send payment for fees until after you receive an invoice from our office.
