ABSENTEE FACTS

  • Any registered voter can vote by mail, no reason is required.
  • Applications for Absentee Ballots can be submitted up to 78 days prior to the Election.
  • Ballots will be mailed 29-25 days prior to Election Day.
  • Applications can be submitted through the Online Absentee Ballot Portal or by completing a paper application.
  • Elderly (65 years or older) or Disabled voters can choose to receive all ballots for the regular Election Cycle by checking "Elderly or Disabled" on their application.
  • Ballots must be received in our office by 7:00pm Election Night.

Drop Off Locations

  • Richmond Hill Voters can drop off their ballots at the Richmond Hill Recreation Complex at 508 Timber Trail, Richmond Hill, during the hours of early voting only. 
  • Pembroke voters can drop off their ballots to the Board of Elections Office at 6024 US HWY 280 E., Pembroke during office hours of 8am-5pm.

UOCAVA (Uniformed & Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act)

Uniformed Service Members, spouses and US Citizens who are temporarily or permanently residing outside of the US.

  • Applications for Absentee Ballots can be submitted through the Online Absentee Ballot Portal or a paper application can be obtained from the FVAP (Federal Voter Assistance Program) website.
  • Ballots will be sent by mail or Electronically(only elections with Federal or State Offices) 49-45 days prior to the Election.
  • Completed ballots must be returned to our office by mail. Ballots must be post marked by Election Day and be received in our office by close of business the Friday after the Election in order to be counted.
